About imagi
School districts across the US know they need to bring AI into classrooms. Board members are asking, state grants are available, and students who do not learn AI today will be behind the ones who do. But the AI tools that actually work were not built for schools. They do not meet COPPA or FERPA requirements, and every district leader knows they are one news story away from a problem they cannot explain to their school board.
imagi is the only K-12 platform that puts all three things districts need in one place: a student-safe, compliant AI environment; a structured curriculum that has students actually learning and building real applications with AI; and professional development so teachers do not have to be AI experts to teach it.
The role
You will own product design at imagi end to end: research, flows, interface, and copy. This is a lead-and-do role on a lean team. You decide what to design, you design it, and you test it with real teachers and students.
You will work directly with our co-founders and with our engineering and commercial team. We use AI tools daily to move faster than a traditional team could, and we expect the same from you. As imagi grows, this role grows into leading the design function.
What you'll own
Own product design end to end, from a problem or research insight to dev-ready design, for both teachers and students.
Build clickable prototypes (Figma or code) and put them in front of real users.
Run our user research: plan it, moderate it, synthesize it, and turn findings into shipped design within days.
Write the interface copy as part of the design, in clear, precise English.
Build and maintain our design system as the product grows.
Use AI tools daily to multiply your output, and help define how an AI-first design practice at imagi should work.
What you bring
4+ years of product design experience with real ownership at a startup or fast-moving product team.
Maximum energy and ownership; you do not wait to be told what to design next.
Strong prototyping skills: you get ideas into a testable, clickable state fast and reliably.
Solid user research fundamentals: you have planned and moderated sessions, and you can show how research changed what you shipped.
You are AI-native. AI tools are part of how you design every day, and you use them to raise both speed and quality, not to produce slop.
Product judgment: you care who the feature is for, push back when something does not make sense, and sweat the details that reach students and teachers.
Excellent written English, communication, persuasion, and a sharp eye for detail.
Nice to have
Experience in edtech, K-12, or other products with a buyer and an end user who are different people.
Familiarity with tools like Lovable, Claude, ElevenLabs, or Synthesia.
Enough front-end fluency (HTML/CSS, or vibe coding) to prototype in code when it beats Figma.
Experience as the first or only designer at a company.
Where you're based
Stockholm. Our wider team is remote-friendly and meets as a full team once a quarter, but this role is different: as our Product Designer, you will work in person with our product team in Stockholm.
What we offer
Competitive compensation and meaningful equity/stock options, so you own a real piece of what you build.
An AI-first way of working, with the tools and freedom to move as fast as you can.
Flexible working plus 30 days vacation.
Tjänstepension (occupational pension) and friskvårdsbidrag (wellness allowance).
A close-knit, international team that takes its mission seriously and has fun doing it.
Real ownership and visible impact: on a team this small, your work ships and reaches classrooms fast.
