Head of Curriculum
About the job
Curriculum is the heart of imagi, and right now it is run by our co-founder and CTO/CPO. We are looking for our first Head of Curriculum to take it from her and own it end to end.
This is a lead-and-do role, not a strategy-only one. You will set the vision for our AI literacy and computer science curriculum, and you will personally write the lessons, build the projects, and align them to standards. On a seven-person team, the person who decides what a lesson should teach is the same person who builds it. You will be an AI-native curriculum builder who uses tools like Claude to produce high-quality, classroom-ready material faster than a traditional team ever could.
You will work directly with our co-founder and CTO (who has carried curriculum so far), our Director of District Partnerships, our Educational Partnership Manager, and a bench of expert teacher-contributors. As imagi grows, this role grows into leading the entire curriculum function.
What you´ll own
Set the vision and roadmap for imagi's AI literacy and computer science curriculum across grade bands, and decide what we build next based on classroom impact and what helps schools adopt it.
Design and build the curriculum itself: lessons, projects, and assessments that are rigorous, genuinely engaging, and easy for any teacher to deliver, including teachers without a CS background.
Keep our curriculum aligned to the standards and frameworks that matter to schools and districts, including CSTA, state CS and AI standards, and CTE and employability pathways.
Own the learning experience for AI civics and literacy (understanding AI and using AI), scaffolding it for students of different ages and skill levels.
Shape the content behind our teacher professional development so educators feel confident teaching AI, even without a technical background.
Partner with teachers, expert contributors, and our community to test the curriculum, gather feedback, and continuously improve what we ship.
Use AI tools to create high-quality curriculum at scale, and define how imagi builds curriculum as the team grows. We will ask you how you use AI in the interview.
What you´ll bring
A teaching background in computer science and in AI or emerging tech. You have stood in front of a classroom and you know what actually works.
Proven curriculum or instructional design experience: you can take a standard or a learning goal and turn it into a lesson students love and teachers can run.
You are genuinely hands-on and hungry. You would rather ship three great lessons this week than write a strategy deck about lessons.
Demonstrated, daily use of AI tools in your work. You are excited by what vibe coding and frontier AI mean for what students can build.
Familiarity with US K-12: how teachers adopt tools, how curriculum directors evaluate them, and standards like CSTA and state CS/AI frameworks.
Strong ownership and judgment. You can lead curriculum with minimal oversight on a lean team.
Excellent written communication and a sharp eye for detail.
Nice to have
Experience building AI literacy or CS curriculum for K-12 specifically.
Knowledge of CTE or employability-skills pathways.
Familiarity with tools like Lovable, Claude, ElevenLabs, or Synthesia.
Experience growing a teacher community, ambassador program, or early-tester network.
Comfort in the CSTA and ISTE ecosystems.
